FINE PRINT
What does Byggy look like?
Like an Yggdrasil+. But with a different rear panel. And very different guts. If you were expecting audiophile jewelry, there are other companies that will add a zero or two to the price for something much fancier.
Wait a sec! A delta-sigma Yggdrasil is the top Yggdrasil now? Why have you forsaken True Multibit?
Yes. And no. Let's break it down:
- Yes, a delta-sigma Yggdrasil is now the top Yggdrasil. This is because it sounds the best. It is also because, arguably, this is the most advanced delta-sigma implementation in the world. Our delta-sigma modulator is 100% our own, based on our own closed-form math, and it operates at the insane rate of 6MHz with 7 bit depth. It's a completely bespoke implementation with an FPGA driving individual resistors, which then feed a fully discrete Nexus™ differential analog stage.
- We haven't forsaken True Multibit. True Multibit and Multiform have their place. At this moment in time, that place is below Singular. We will continue developing multibit designs, and we'll see where that goes. Competition improves the breed, even when the competition is internal.
What will happen to Yggdrasil MIB, LIM, etc?
We'll continue selling those until we're out of them.
Why is it $15 to reserve my place in line?
Because it's our 15th anniversary this year.
So if I give you $15 you're not gonna allow someone to cut in line?
Correct, if you've bought an Yggdrasil from us, or upgraded an Yggdrasil with us. Also if you've bought an Yggdrasil from a distributor. Hence the name of this program. All Yggdrasil owners get first dibs on this new version of Yggdrasil, like, first.
I'm not an Yggdrasil owner but I'm interested in Byggy. When will it be available?
When all owners on the Priority Upgrade Program have had their order fulfilled. Might be a few months. Might be never. Most likely somewhere in-between.
But I want a Byggy and I'm not an owner and I don't want to wait!
There's always Yggdrasil GS2 in the meantime. Buy now, get on the list, add Singular card when available, save $800 or so on a full Byggy (but you won't get the new USB inputs, DSP card, input card, etc.) Or buy a GS2 and get on the list for a Byggy, you still save $500.
