Want to upgrade your first-generation Gungnir? You've reached the right place. You can choose either one, or both, of these upgrades.

Please note these are for Gungnir 1, not Gungnir 2. There are no current upgrades for Gungnir 2.

Unison USB™ Upgrade
Want a USB input that can plug easily into all popular sources without drivers—and deliver performance that can go head-to-head with all the crazy inconvenient options out there? Then you want Unison USB™. 

The Unison USB input board features:

  • A completely unique USB input receiver based on a Microchip PIC32 32-bit microprocessor with Schiit's proprietary code.
  • Complete electromagnetic and electrostatic isolation.
  • Self-power by the DAC for the critical low-noise re-clocking and latching sections.
  • Precision local clocks for both 44.1 and 48k multiples.

Gungnir Multibit Upgrade
Upgrade your Gungnir to Gungnir Multibit with this analog and DSP processing board, using our proprietary closed-form digital filter and precision multibit DACs like Yggdrasil. In this case, the DACs are AD5781BRUZ rather than Yggy's AD5791BRUZ, but there's still 4 of them for true hardware balancing, and they're followed by discrete JFET buffers.

Schiit Scheduling System Reduces Upgrade Time
We've provided a convenient scheduling system that allows you to keep your Gungnir until we’re ready to upgrade it immediately. Just place your order, and follow the steps in the series of emails. You’ll be notified when your order is accepted, when to send in your DAC, when the work is performed, and when it’s shipped back to you, for complete transparency.
 
2-Year Warranty
Gungnir upgrades are covered by a 2-year warranty, or by the balance of the remaining factory warranty, whichever is greater. For out-of-warranty Gungnirs, this re-activates the warranty on the complete product for 2 years. One caveat: Schiit may refuse to do upgrades on heavily modified products. Schiit-installed upgrades are not eligible for return.
 
All Gungnir upgrades require returning Gungnir to the Schiit facility in Texas.
