Reviews for Rekkr
"On the opening piece, "Raining Day in Tallin" the sound was not only composed with the volume turned up, but it was also immense. Not only compared to the Rekkrs size, but rather in its ability to draw listener into the musical spectacle. What was also noticeable was the PRaT (pace, rhythm and timing) that was spot-on here. It was also that sense of immediacy, of being there, right in the middle of what was happening. For Rekkr also gives you something else – that directness, it may be diminutive in size, but what contrasts with that size is its sound being devoid of any curtains that are sometimes associated with many high-powered multi-output-transistor amplifiers."
"A great little desktop amplifier, Schiit's Rekkr power amp is true budget esoterica. It's small and cheap yet gives a taste of the sort of sound expected from bigger and more expensive designs.
"Partner it to a seriously good source and sensitive loudspeakers, and it has much to give – despite its diminutive dimensions."
"I connected my laptop directly to the Rekkr using a 3.5 mm to RCA and streamed "master" level music through the Tidal app on my computer and immediately began smiling. What I heard was very detailed mids and highs. The bass is there, but it's a 2 watt amp so it's not in your face. Remember, I don’t have a preamp with tone controls connected at this point but I never wanted to adjust anything on this little amp. I fell in love with playing music at my office again!"
"Don’t be distracted by the small sterol power amplifier's unusual name - Mike and David recon it's a thing of sonic beauty! In this episode, the guys sing the praises of this neat little US-designed and built desktop amp. Despite its diminutive dimensions and very lower power output, the guys recon it sounds better than it has a right too - and love the high quality build, finish and overall packaging."
