SchiitShow Introduces 3 New Products

Showcasing Mjolnir 2, Gungnir Multibit, and LISST: End-Game Tube Hybrid/Solid State Headamp, More Affordable Multibit DAC, and Solid-State Tube Replacements

August 15, 2015, Marina Del Rey, CA. Schiit Audio held its first SchiitShow at Hotel MDR, (mainly because it couldn't get it's act together enough to announce at a normal major industry show—the fact we tell you this highlights some key differences between us and other companies). The SchiitShow introduced the all-new Mjolnir 2, the first and only tube-hybrid or solid-state balanced headphone amplifier, the Gungnir Multibit, or "Yggdrasil Junior," a more affordable multibit DAC containing the same proprietary technology as Yggdrasil, and the LISST solid-state tube replacement, for buyers wanting a solid-state Mjolnir 2, Lyr 2, or Lyr.

"Gungnir Multibit brings a significant percentage of Yggy's performance to a price that's almost 50% less," said Mike Moffat, Co-Founder of Schiit Audio. "It uses the same time- and frequency-domain optimized digital filter algorithm running on an Analog Devices SHARC processor, similar medical/military-grade precision multibit DACs, and the same discrete JFET output buffers. We're proud of the fact that Gungnir Multibit costs $1249, as compared to Yggdrasil's $2299. In addition, all Gungnirs can be upgraded to Gungnir Multibit for $500, highlighting our upgradability—when technology changes, you don't need a new DAC."

Gungnir Multibit is available immediately, both in finished form and as an upgrade.

"Mjolnir 2 is a significant advance over Mjolnir," said Jason Stoddard, Schiit's other Co-Founder. "It provides the features everyone has been looking for—single-ended input and output, gain switching, input switching—and unsurpassed flexibility. It's the only headphone amplifier that can be either a tube hybrid design...or 100% solid-state. Thanks to the new LISST solid-state tube replacements, Mjolnir 2, Lyr 2, and Lyr can be easily converted to solid-state amplifiers."

Mjolnir 2 and LISST are available immediately. Mjolnir 2 starts at $849 and includes options to purchase with only tubes, only LISST, or tubes and LISST, at $849, $909, and $929 respectively. LISST retails at $99/pair.

Like all Schiit products, Mjolnir 2, Gungnir Multibit, and LISST are made in the USA. Gungnir Multibit and Mjolnir 2 are covered by a 5-year warranty, while LISST is covered for 2 years.

About Schiit Audio

Founded in June 2010 by Jason Stoddard and Mike Moffat, Schiit has grown into a leader in the "personal audio" market, with a wide range of products spanning DACs, headphone amplifiers, and preamplifiers, from $49 to $2299. Schiit is also a leader in the direct sale of audio products.

Jason Stoddard was the former engineering lead at Sumo, designing power amps that included Polaris II, Polaris III, Andromeda III, Ulysses, Ulysses II, The Ten, The Five, as well as preamplifiers including Athena II, Diana, and Artemis, and Sumo’s first digital line: Axiom and Theorem.

Mike Moffat was the founder of Theta, Theta Digital, and Angstrom, and his audio history covers an impressive list of firsts, including the first standalone DAC, the Theta DSPre, the first use of digital signal processing and bit-perfect digital filter algorithms, the first DTS surround processor, and more.
